Kids - in for a Quid, out for a Lifetime...
Brought 4 young lads (aged 7/8) to their second game at UP on Saturday, the first having been Stoke last season....Took a while to get over their first visit (no home team shots at goal remember), but new season, new optimism after encouraging performances against Spurs and Palace. But hey, what do you know, same old, same old....What is the point of encouraging us to bring our kids and their young, impressionable mates to UP when we get totally outplayed by a team that lost its biggest starsand turned over 14 players in the Summer ? All my son took away from it was hearing two F-words (ending in Noble - unfair since he had our only shot ) and that he and his mates should stick to their Barcelona and Chelsea shirts. Where are we going with BFS ?

What fucking planet are you on - where on earth is the "semi-literate rambling"?

You don't like Allardyce? I couldn't give a fuck, to be honest - he's not on my Christmas card list either, but let's have it straight, we've all witnessed some utter bollocks over the years at UP from a succession of managers, some of whom are certainly viewed through the proverbial rose tinted specs.

I'm merely pointing out that in my time and experience of going to WHU since 1975 - not as long as you, granted, but still a not inconsiderable amount of time, I have witnessed far worse in terms of match atmosphere and team performances - the two of which are inexorably linked - not too many complaints in the relatively successful season's were there?.

I wholeheartedly stand by my comment that the teams put out by Bonzo in 91/92 and Grant far more recently, have been the absolute worst in my time of going.

You have a different opinion, which is absolutely fine, but ultimately before you wipe your knob on the keyboard, get your facts right first yourself...

If you knew yours Glos there is no way you'd be defending the absolute crap of the past 3 seasons . I've been going since 1967 and not missed many home games so I'm allowed lapsed memory once in a while.

Its a bit difficult to tell what year you are talking about from the semi literate rambling, but Billy brought us straight back up automatically and then got shafted by Redknapp.

There is no comparison with this fuckwit, as there was when he was a player.

I've been bringing my kids half a dozen times a year since they were 7 or 8. They generally have seen us be rubbish. But then it's a day out, it's a laugh. The football is shit but then how many of us go for the football anymore?

Gloucester - selective memory yes you got one there. We never went down under Billy. He took over AFTER we were down and Macari left. He brought us back up.
The poisonous atmosphere conjured up before that was media engineered and directed at John Lyall. A few mugs went along with it. Most of us didn't.

We've lost loads of shit games but then we also played like we could beat anyone. Billy Bonds restored that and the youth system. Redknapp reaped the reward.
Under this manager 'who knows how to win matches' we look like we can't beat ANYONE. And more often than not we lose and lose badly.
Get your facts right you BFS defending moron.

Atmosphere under Grant was far better than under Allardyce.

If your kids lack the character to accept defeat then yeah maybe West Ham's not for them.

Your kid has a chelsea shirt and you're moaning about how West Ham play. What a strange thread.

Did we never lose a game under Lyall? Bonds? Redknapp?

Atmosphere has never been as bad, home and away, as it is under Allardyce...

Utter bollocks.

Just off the top of my head we were far worse under Grant, and the during the Billy Bonds relegation season where we were probably the worst side I've ever seen, the atmosphere was border line evil, but good ole Bonzo's a Hammers legend so we can't possibly bring that inconvenient truth up can we, eh...?

Short, or just selective memories to suit an agenda? You decide...

Your fault for taking them - if everyone stayed away he'd have gone already but people keep on going.

Feel your annoyance but people need to stop putting up with it

This is a load of old shit really, my first game was a cold, wet 2-0 loss to Sunderland at Upton Park when I was 10...all my mates supported United, Liverpool, Tottenham.
Hutchinson scored a free kick for Sunderland and West Ham were terrible.
I fell in love with West Ham due to the support.
Me and my old man got a season ticket the following season and have had one ever since

I said this the other day, I can see why people are now staying away, but it doesn't mean I agree with it.

We had some bloke on here the other day saying he was going to fuck it off all together, not even bother looking out for the scores, then come back when we get a better manager, start playing two up to etc.

I'm sorry, but that just doesn't fucking sit right with me. But each to their own I suppose.

Sorry son! I was thinking of the supporters club MEET before the game.

I was more impressed with the NINJA to be honest.
